KIU Rangers dominate Nabisunsa in fourth quarter surge at YMCA

The KIU Rangers showcased their depth and determination in a dominant fourth-quarter performance to secure a 76-55 victory over Nabisunsa Girls Basketball Club in the 2025 NBL Women’s clash held at the YMCA court in Kampala.

The game was a tightly contested affair in the first quarter with KIU narrowly edging ahead 26-23. However, the Rangers shifted gears in the second quarter, outscoring Nabisunsa 20-8 to take a commanding halftime lead.

Nabisunsa mounted a third-quarter push, but KIU closed out the game in style, finishing strong with an 18-8 run in the final period.

Leading the charge for KIU was Sharon Kirabo, who delivered a standout double-double performance with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds.

She was ably supported by Ines Kanyamuneza, who filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Leticia Awor also played a crucial role off the boards, adding 11 points and pulling down 7 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Nabisunsa had bright sparks. Auma Joy and Martha Yikiru both registered double-doubles. Joy with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Yikiru contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Mpoza Abigail added another strong performance with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, keeping Nabisunsa within reach for much of the contest.
