Kiwoko Young joins Hared, Muti and Kibalaza in 2024 Mutalaga Cup semifinals

Luwero-based side Kiwoko Young eliminated Young Lion from the Mutalaga Cup with a 2-1 win to reach the semifinals.

To win the quarterfinal clash played on 21st December 2024 at Lweza Playground, Kiwoko Young fought from a goal down thanks to Allan Bukenya who scored with a direct free kick.

Bukenya’s goal shortly after Faisal Wabyona’s goal which came via a penalty kick following Peter Ssenkungu’s foul on Gerald Ogweti in the penalty area.

Both goals came late in the first half which ended 1-1 but later Kiwoko Young returned to kill off the game early in the second half.

The plan was accomplished just 47 seconds into the second half when Johnson Ssenyonga scored from a rebound off Derrick Kato’s cross. Kato had also won the free kick that led to the opening goal.

With that goal scored from close range, Kiwoko Young led the game 2-1 up to the final whistle to join Hared FC, Muti FC and Kibalaza FC.

With the final set for 25 December 2024, the last four stage shall immediately take action on the 22nd and 23rd at Lweza Playground.
