Kyadondo and Buddu are set to clash in the first leg of the Masaza Cup semifinals at Wankulukuku on October 6, 2024 at 4:00 PM. The match will be Kyadondo’s debut at Wankulukuku after playing previous home matches at Hormisdallen – Gayaza, in Kiwenda.

To reach the semi-finals, Kyadondo eliminated Busujju following home and away1-0 victories, while Buddu eliminated Kabula 3-1 on aggregate.

Kyadondo, under the guidance of Medi Nyanzi, will rely on key players Isaac Ssenyunja and Dathan Mubira to lead the attack. However they are also strong defensively, and their goalkeeper Eric Kaweesi has won the man of the match 3 times already.

Buddu, coached by Simon Dungu Dunga, has also shown significant improvement. Players like Mike Weraga, Joseph Kayondo, Malida Kuteesa, and captain Pius Ssebulime have been key contributors to their team’s performance.

The rivalry between Kyadondo and Buddu has been marked by heated encounters, including unsporting behavior in previous matches. Their quarter-final clash last year was particularly contentious, with Buddu winning the first leg 2-1 and Kyadondo refusing to play the return leg.

In this year’s Masaza Cup group stage, Buddu defeated Kyadondo 1-0 in Masaka, while the return match saw more violent scenes and was abandoned in the 84th minute with a 1-1 scoreline. Buddu was ultimately awarded the three points.

Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, Kyaggwe will host Buweekula at Mukono Bishops SS in the first leg at 4:00 PM. The two teams met in the group stage and both encounters ended in stalemates.
