Lady Canons Too Good For Panthers As JKL Dolphins Reign First Class Against A1 Challenge

This past weekend, the finest in ladies’ basketball in Uganda started the road to yet another finals showdown, with UCU Lady Canons and JKL Dolphins registering dominant wins.

UCU Lady Canons, the defending champions, pulled away from the Leopards in the fourth quarter on a 26-14 run to win 83-67.

The Leopards came into the playoffs on a 17-5 record, with many registering them as the dark horse for the title.

Still, a UCU Lady Canons outfit inspired by Bridget Aber and Azidah Nabayunga proved a tough nut to crack.

JKL Dolphins, on their quest to dethrone UCU, pummeled misery on the histroicals of A1 challenge, walking away 70-40 winners to take a 1-0 series lead.

Straight out of graduation celebrations, Hope Akello was on the court to inspire the 2021 Champions to victory. The Dolphins ended the season with a blazing 20-2 record.

Elsewhere, Magic Stormers caused an upset against the JT Jaguars 77-76 after trailing by more than 18 points in the first quarter.

KIU Rangers took a 1-0 series lead against Miracle, winning 66-58.
