Lugazi FC have acted to halt a struggling season, parting ways with co-head coaches Francis Mugerwa and Steven Bogere with immediate effect after failing to meet the club’s expectations.
The decision ends a brief co-coaching experiment that had generated interest but delivered little on the pitch.

Bogere joined the club in October 2024, with Mugerwa coming in July 2025 to form a joint leadership setup that promised a new direction.

Results never matched the ambition. Lugazi currently sit 14th in the Uganda Premier League with just 10 points after earning only 2 wins so far this season, holding onto 4 draws and 5 loses including a recent 5 game winless run, prompting club officials to opt for a complete reset.
In a sweeping overhaul, the club also disbanded the entire technical team. Assistant coach Gerald Efiti, goalkeeping coach Kizza Adam, statistician Alex Mugabi and team doctor Jude Ssempijja have all departed.
Despite the decisive move, Lugazi struck a measured tone, thanking Mugerwa, Bogere and their staff for their service and commitment.
