Lugazi FC have added exciting winger Edrine Owachgiu Junior, nicknamed “Kanyankole,” to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.
The 2022 FEASSA Games MVP joins from Big Talent Soccer Academy on a two-year deal, the club confirmed on Thursday, July 17.
“Owachgiu is a sensational talent, and we’re happy to bring him in,” Lugazi FC said in a statement.
Known for his speed and flair, Owachgiu has previously featured for Turkish Club, Kajjansi United, and in the Masaza Cup with Butambala and Busiro.
He rose to prominence in 2022 when he helped Kibuli SS win the FEASSA Games in Tanzania, where he was named Most Valuable Player.
He becomes Lugazi’s fourth signing this window, joining former Kibuli teammate Dauson Mafumu, along with Yusuf Mafabi and Paul Busolo.
Owachgiu is expected to add creativity and energy to Lugazi’s frontline.
