2025 Mukono T20 Final

  • Lugazi Trekkers 150/8
  • Buvuma Sailors 146/8

Lugazi Trekkers won by 4 runs

Lugazi Trekkers rose to the occasion when it mattered most, stunning the unbeaten Buvuma Sailors to win the inaugural Mukono T20 Cup in tense final at the Florida Oval.

The week-long tournament featured six teams in a round-robin format, with the Sailors cruising to the final without losing a game.

But the Trekkers, calm and consistent throughout, saved their sharpest performance for the last hurdle.

After winning the toss, Lugazi chose to bat and put up 150 for 8, a total built on steady contributions across the order.

It wasn’t a runaway score, but it asked questions, questions Buvuma hoped opener Harshal Panchal could answer.

His brilliant 84 kept them in the hunt even as partners fell one by one.

With the Sailors needing 15 runs in the final over, the atmosphere tightened. Trekkers bowler Emetu Paul kept his cool.

Panchal couldn’t find the boundary off the first two balls, launched a huge six off the third, but perished on the fourth, exactly the break Lugazi needed.

From there, Paul closed out the game, ending Buvuma’s unbeaten run in dramatic fashion.

Lugazi Trekkers walked away with UGX 400,000 in prize money, while the Sailors settled for UGX 250,000 as runners-up.

The tournament also included Mukono Development, Buikwe Gladiators, Njeru Warriors, and Kayunga Titans, all of whom helped set the tone for a lively first edition.
