His aggressive innings, featuring seven fours and a six, set the foundation before a middle-order collapse derailed their momentum. The clinical Baguma Joseph (33) and Jonathan Nyiiro (18) provided late resistance.

Emerald’s bowlers kept things tight with Ivan Baidu (2/21) and Christopher Kidega (2/22) standing out. Frank Nsubuga, Pascal Murungi, and Peter Ocen chipped in with crucial wickets, ensuring Ruby didn’t run away with the game.

Emerald’s chase started on a strong note, with Simon Ssesazi (17) and Suleman Sharif (24) attacking early. After their departures, Charles Musemeza (27) built the innings steadily, setting the stage for Lutaaya’s explosive finish.

The young batter dominated Ruby’s bowlers, smashing three fours and four sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 174.19. He found an able partner in Irfan Karim (12), as the duo calmly guided Emerald to victory with 25 balls to spare.

The dominant win is set to put Emerald as a threat most especially with the bat as they return to action tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM against Gold.

The other game on the day will see Sapphire face Ruby at 2 PM.
