Makerere Aiming to Extend Winning Streak Against Muni University

Makerere University will be looking to maintain their winning streak when they host Muni University on Thursday in the University Football League.

The former champions are currently top of Group C with six points, two ahead of Kyambogo University who have played a game more.

Makerere will be confident of maintaining their good start to the league at home, but coach Douglas Bamweyana is not taking anything for granted.

“We must think as if we haven’t won any game because anything can happen. We will go to win because we can’t think any other way.” Bamweyana said.

Bamweyana is aware of the threat that Muni University pose, having given Kyambogo University a tough time in their last match.

“I watched Muni give Kyambogo a really hard time at home and thus can’t take anything for granted,” Bamweyana added.

“They have already shown that they have good players so too much confidence can be costly.”

Hopeful Muni University

On the other hand, Muni University coach Ronnie Atiku believes his side has a chance to bounce back after a slim 1-0 loss to Kyambogo University a week ago.

“I am fairly confident that we are going to pull it out of the bag against Makerere,” Atiku said.

“We have put our focus on this game and we have prepared and our concentration levels are high. If you watched the Kyambogo game it speaks volumes for my team.”

Makerere University will be looking to extend their winning streak, while Muni University will be hoping to get back on track after their last defeat.
