Defender Ashraf Mandela has promised to give his all after sealing a return to Vipers SC for a third stint, aiming to play a key role as the Venoms chase silverware this season.
“It feels great to be back home. Vipers has always been special to me, and I’m ready to give my best for the team and the fans,” Mandela said after signing.
Since leaving the club as a youngster, the 21-year-old has grown into one of Uganda’s most dependable defenders.
He played for SC Villa in the 2018/19 season, spent three solid years at URA FC, and rejoined Vipers in 2022, helping them win back-to-back Uganda Premier League titles, reach the CAF Champions League group stages, and lift the Uganda Cup.
Last season, Mandela featured for Rwanda Police FC in the Rwanda Premier League, gaining valuable international experience.
His return strengthens Vipers’ defense as he competes for a starting spot alongside Grant Matsiko and Nicholas Wadada, giving head coach Ivan Minneart more depth at the back.
He joins a window that has also brought in Robin Kane Hney, Mark Yallah, Taddeo Lwanga, Odili Chukwuma, Kevin Dasylva Bady, and Enock Ssebaggala.
