In the rescheduled fixture of the Buganda Region 3rd division league, Manyangwa FC held Buwambo FC from a goal down, denying the leaders the chance to go eight points clear.

The game took place at Gayaza Church-Lufula on Saturday, April 4. Buwambo United took the lead just seven minutes into the game.

Benaldo Kateregga scored from the spot following Ivan Nyombi’s handball in the penalty area on a corner kick executed by electric winger Alex Mutebi.

Buwambo United tried all the way to maintain the lead, but Allan Opio’s stoppage-time goal managed to break their resistance, and in the end, the game ended 1-1.

With 21 games played out of 30, Buwambo United missed a chance to reach the 50-point mark but managed 48 points, gaining a point from the game.

Meanwhile, they have so far played two more games than Simba/Uganda Wildlife Authority FC, who sit in the second place being 6 points behind as of now.

In the other rescheduled fixture on the same day, Masaka City defeated Kira United 1-0 at Nyendo grounds in Masaka.

Following the games, the league awaits to continue this coming week as the title and promotion battle continues.
