Maroons forward Fred Amaku said that picking up a victory against Kitara was a huge motivation to the team. The Prisons side had gone two games without a win, but they managed to beat Kitara 1-0 at Masindi stadium.

“Today we managed to get three points away from home. I think it was good on our side. I’m happy to be on the scoresheet. I give thanks to God. I want to appreciate our fans for supporting us,” said Amaku.

This was Amaku’s fourth goal this season. The victory saw Kitara remain second with 15 points, three below table leaders BUL.

Maroons assistant coach Simon Peter Ojok said that it was not surprising that they won since they had prepared well for the game.

“It was a big physical game for us. We embarked on team work and game implementation. We had good preparations. I want to thank the players and technical people of Kitara for the love of the game,” said Ojok.

Kitara FC forward Denis Omedi‘s penalty was saved by Maroons goalkeeper Hannington Sebwalunyo.
