Maroons FC will be looking to make it two wins in two games when they host NEC FC at Luzira Prisons Ground on Saturday in the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

The Prisons side return to action after picking up a vital 1-0 win against Kitara FC in Masindi last week.

Their assistant coach, Simon Peter Ojok, revealed that the Kitara victory has motivated them to perform better in their next games.

“We are at home and believe we can use that as an advantage,” Ojok said.

“NEC is a good side so we have to be prepared. We have tried to address areas of concern in our previous game. The victory against Kitara motivated us to do more.”

However, NEC will be aiming to return to their winning ways after going down to Gaddafi FC 3-0 in their previous game last week. Their coach, Hussein Mbalangu, says they are ready for the battle.

“We have to be conscious of how we shall handle the game,” Mbalangu said. “Maroons are a good side but we can live up to our expectations and we can get results from there.”

“We take this game as final since we had started the season well before we dropped points. Though we are away, if we believe in ourselves, we shall get a result.”

In another UPL fixture on Saturday, Gaddafi FC will face Mbarara City FC at Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.

The match between Wakiso Giants FC and Express FC, which was scheduled for Saturday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso district, has been postponed to allow the judicial bodies to conclude matters relating to the UPDF FC vs Express FC match that saw assistant referee Fahad Sekayiba injured by Express fans.

However, the committee on Friday agreed that the suspension was lifted.
