Uganda Cranes international winger Martin Kizza has officially completed a move to South Sudan Premier League side El Merriekh SC Bentiu, sealing a short-term six-month contract with the club ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 season.

The 28-year-old attacker, known for his pace, versatility and ability to play on both flanks, underwent medical tests before finalizing the deal.

This move marks the latest chapter of Kizza’s football journey, which has spanned multiple clubs and countries across Africa. He rose through the ranks in Uganda with top clubs including SC Villa, KCCA FC, Express FC and Vipers SC.

The winger also gained valuable experience abroad with spells in South Africa at clubs like Free State Stars & Royal Eagles, and most recently featured in the Ethiopian Premier League with Fasil Kenema FC. Internationally, Kizza has been capped multiple times by the Uganda Cranes, as he looks to apply this experience in South Sudan.

For El Merriekh SC Bentiu, signing Kizza represents a strategic boost to their attacking options as they pursue success in the South Sudan Premier League – one that has become an increasingly appealing destination for Ugandan talent, with several notable players such as Jude Ssemugabi, Nicholas Kagaba and Hassan Wasswa Dazo making the switch in recent months.
