MASAZA CUP 2023: Ssekabuza expects tough encounter as Gomba visits Mawokota

Gomba FC will face off with Mawokota today in Buvuma at 4:00pm in the Muganzirwazza second group game.

Ssali Shafic scored the lone goal in the first game as Gomba defeated Ssese 1-0 while Mawokota registered a 3-1 victory over the reigning champions Busiro.

Gomba FC head coach Felix Sssekabuza is optimistic that his team will win the game.

“I am aware that we are visiting a strong team at their home, they won the first game away we don’t take that for granted but we shouldn’t fear them,” he started.

“We are record champions, we have to keep our legacy by winning more games, and we have had great preparations to face Mawokota,” he added

“We are going into this game with positive minds and ready to win the game to help us get maximum points for go through past group stages,” Sssekabuza concluded.

The 5-time record champions have few injuries however, they will rely on Kenneth Kimera who scored seven goals in the last edition.

Elsewhere, Buddu will visit Buweekula at St. Peters Technical Playground. In the first game, Buddu edged 1-0 but missed the services of their new midfielder Joel Sserunjogi who is available for selection today.

Bugerere who sits at the bottom of Bulange Group will host Buleemezi who are second in the group.

Kkoki who lost their first game 1-0 to Buddu will welcome Kyaggwe at Lwanda MA STD Playground.
