With slim chances for both Busiro and Gomba in this yearโ€™s Buganda Masaza Cup, the two teams will clash on Sunday, July 27 at the Ssaza ground in Sentema.

In this match, which close the first round of the group stage, Busiro is slight favorite over Gomba, despite both teams having less chances of advancing to the group stage, making this an important and closely contested game.

In this yearโ€™s tournament, although Gomba has historically been the most successful teamโ€”winning the Masaza Cup five timesโ€”they have only managed a single goal so far, scored by Joseph Ssewaali.

After four matches, Gomba has lost three and drawn once, earning just one point and currently sitting at the bottom of their group after a 0-0 draw against Buluuli at Kabulasoke PTC the home of Gomba.

As they travel to Busiro, Gomba will be looking to secure their first win in the 2025 Masaza season. This victory could boost their chances of moving up the standings.

Under Coach Nasib Mukasa, who is preparing to lead Gomba for a second game and is optimistic about the teamโ€™s form since the squad is in good shape.

Busiro, on the other hand, has also had a tough season. Despite being better than Gomba, Busiro has won one match, drawn another and lost two both lost away from home.

This means Busiro has so far avoided defeats as, they drew 1-1 with Buddu and beat Buluuli 1-0, but lost narrowly to Busujju 1-0 at Kakindu playground and 2-1 Ssese at Baakijululu Ssaza ground.

Players Trevor Denis Baale and Jinta Michael have impressed above their teammates, with Baale assisting the three goals scored for Busiro and Jinta has scored two goals.

Both Busiro and Gomba sit at the bottom of Bulange group behind Busujju, Buddu, Ssese, and Buluuli.

Elsewhere, Buddu will visit Buluuli in Migyera at St. Lawrence grounds, with that match also scheduled for Sunday, July 27.

In other groups, Bugerere will face Bulemeezi, whose camp recently welcomed boost from the return of Frank Mutalaga who splashes cash to motivate players.

In the same group Masengere, Mawokota will host Kyadondo at Buwama playground in Mpigi. Kyadondo is also seeking to rivive their season after playing three matches without a win, since beating Bulemeezi in their opener.

In the Muganzirwazza group, Kyaggwe will take on Kabula at Bishop SS grounds in Mukono, while Ssingo will visit Mawogola as Butambala visits Kooki.
