Lanky forward Jimmy Kalema continued to shine with a second-half brace that handed Buweekula a 2-1 victory over Kyadondo in the Masaza Cup.
Kalema converted from the penalty spot in the 51st minute of the game to put Buweekula in the lead, but after four minutes, Kyadondo levelled through Marvin Kabiito.
Kyadondo were wasteful in the game, with Sulaiman Ali Ssentongo, Isaac Ssenyunja, and Ismail Ndifuna all failing to convert chances.
In the 88th minute, the breakthrough arrived for Buweekula when Kyadondo captain Faizo Kyazze Wamala shakily defended against Kalema, who curled a forceful effect in at the near post.
The win took Buweekula to 7 points in four games, leading the Musengere group for a night before Mawokota faced Bugerere on Sunday, July 20.
For Kyadondo, they lost a second game of the campaign and a fourth consecutive head-to-head with Buweekula.
Wrapping up the first leg of the group stage, Kyadondo will have to travel to Mawokota on Sunday, July 27, while Buweekula will host Buvuma at Mubende NTC on the day.
From the game played at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, Ssese won their second game of the season beating Busiro 2-1, adding to a 1-0 win over Gomba earlier this month.
To beat Busiro, Brian Ssejjabi and Andrew Mukasa scored late goals, while Michael Jinta grabbed his second of the campaign for Busiro.
In the other game on Saturday, Kabula drew 0-0 with Mawogola; it is the fourth draw out of the four games Kabula has played so far.
They drew 0-0 with Ssingo, 2-2 with Kooki, and 0-0 with Butambala in the opening three fixtures.
The Masaza Cup 2025 matchday four shall commence with six fixtures tomorrow, as Buddu takes on Buvuma at Kitovu Sports Arena in the battle for the top spot of the Bulange group.
The other highly anticipated game sees Bugerere host Mawokota at Ntenjeru Play Ground.
