The Masaza Cup Organizing Committee, today, October 10, met with the leaders of the four Masaza Cup teams in the semifinals to agree on the preparations for the stage.

In the middle of the meeting, managers agreed to no fights, especially Ssingo and Bugerere, and agreed that the issues should be all about football matches and not fighting of any kind.

Managers of Masaza Cup teams present at the meeting.

This follows Ssingo Team Manager Lawrence Ssekitto asking the leaders of the Bugerere team not to fight Ssingo when they beat them at home, as Ssingo steadily wins away matches.

In response, Bugerere Team Secretary David Lwetute said they have not been fighting late this season and that this time, they are only focused on winning matches.

In the semifinals, Bugerere will host Ssingo at Ntenjeru Ssaza grounds on Sunday, October 12th, in the first leg before meeting on October 19th at Ssingo House, Mityana Ssaza grounds to decide who reaches the final.

Speaking about the match, Bugerere Team Manager Andrew Ssekitto said, “We are going to take down Ssingo; they are already afraid, even here in the meeting. Bugerere, we see this as the right time To win this trophy, since we have been participating without making any serious statement except that we reached the final a long time way back, we are hitting Ssingo home and away, that’s all.”

Ssingo manager Lawrence Ssekitto responded that, “This is a match between the team that took it and the team that is pushing to win for the first time. The way they are raising, we are going to respect them, and we are going to handle the game seriously. I believe we are better than the way we started, and we are going to beat them before the return leg.”

Bugerere, this season, is known for playing good football in building attacks, with Henry Wamala Kalagi, Saidi Mayanja, and Mike Katumwa being the players that are leading their nords.

Ssingo, meanwhile, have a strong squad this season, handling the game accordingly with Ismail Lwamitala, Elvis Ssekajugo, and Francis Ogwanga, as well as captain Shaban Kayongo doing the pivotal work in adjustment of any playing style.

Both teams will fight to finish most of the game in the first leg, as players including Ssekajugo of Ssingo and Wamala of Bugerere would find themselves in dilemma to play the return leg as their league team Express FC will be playing again after the international break.
