The Masaza Cup organising committee has revealed that the inspection process of the playground where teams will host games will get underway this week.
Following the teams’ submissions on Tuesday, 10th June, Organising Committee Vice Chairman Samuel Mpiima confirmed the submission and called the teams to prepare the submitted ground ahead of the inspection.
“I thank teams for the efforts put in the Masaza Cup competition. Going through the process of organising our team, we have received 18 submissions of playgrounds from all 18 counties. Now this week we are going to inspect those grounds to observe whether they are of the standard of the Masaza Cup, and if the submitted ground fails to meet standards, a team shall have either to upgrade or change the venue,” he said.
In the submitted grounds, Buluuli opted for a return to Mijeera from Kakooge where they hosted their games last season while Kyadondo switched from Hormisdallen Gayaza to Hamz Stadium Nakivubo and Kooki submitted Kasambya playground instead of Rakai PTC and St James Kyotera.
Among the 18 venues for Masaza Cup 2025, Kitovu Sports Arena has already passed the inspection process being the hosting venue for the opening game between Buddu and Gomba.
As of now, each team in the competition is aware of its route to the knockout stage of the competition, with 16 teams set to start their journey on the weekend of 27th-29th June, following the opening game on June 21st.
