Buikwe Red Star Coach Medi Vubya has been appointed to take charge of Buvuma after the dismissal of Owen Kato and his back room staff.
Vubya formerly played for Ssese and Buvuma in the Buganda Masaza Cup during his playing days while featuring for Builwe Red Stars.
After retiring two years back, he switched his career to coaching and has been either assistant or head coach to the Buganda Regional League club.
Going to Buvuma, his predecessor Owen Kato has only managed the team to one win and a draw in the five games which conclude the first round of the group stage.
Kato’s exit was triggered after falling to Buweekula 3-0 at home on Saturday, July 26, as he lost for a third consecutive time.
Kato started well by picking up all the four points which Buvuma has in the first two games of the campaign before the fortunes turned downwards to lose to Mawokota 3-0, to Bulemeezi 1-0, and to Buweekula 3-0 all in a row.
Out of the 18 teams in the competition, Buvuma becomes the sixth Masaza Cup team to change coach, following Butambala, Gomba, Ssingo, Buluuli, and Bulemeezi.
