- Strikers 127/6 in 20 Overs (Robert Ajuna 60, Hassan Bagaga 27; Joseph Baguma 2/18)
- Warriors 120/9 in 20 Overs (Steven Wabwose 37, Ronald Lutaaya 22; Yunus Sowobi 3/28, Hamid Munigwa 2/21)
Strikers won by 7 runs
Strikers scraped through a tense Friday afternoon at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe, squeezing past Warriors by seven runs to claim their second win of the season.
The result lifted Robinson Obuya’s men to fourth on 4 points, level with Titans, who stay ahead only on Net Run Rate.
Warriors captain Fahad Mutagana sent Strikers in to bat, hoping to apply early pressure.
It worked briefly when Obuya fell for 5, but Hassan Bagaga and Robert Ajuna steadied the ship with a vital 85-run stand.
Bagaga’s patient 27 off 29 balls brought calm, while Ajuna’s fluent 60 off 58, with four boundaries and a towering six gave Strikers the base they desperately needed.
Warriors fought back through Joseph Baguma (2/18) and Steven Wabwose (1/20), tightening the screws in the middle overs. Even then, Yunus Sowobi’s composed 6* off 6 helped Strikers post 127 for 6.
The chase never quite settled for Warriors. Wickets kept falling, yet Wabwose briefly gave them a lifeline with a fiery 37 off 23 balls that reignited belief. But Strikers’ bowlers held their nerve.
Sowobi returned to star with the ball, picking 3 for 28, while Hamid Munigwa (2/21) and Fortunate Alijuna (1/23) chipped in with crucial strikes.
With eight needed off the final over, Strikers tightened the grip, conceding just a single run and collapsing the last resistance to leave Warriors stranded on 120 for 9.
The narrow win capped a strong day for the Strikers, responding perfectly to Titans’ earlier victory over Royals and setting up a tight mid-table battle heading into the weekend.
