- Warriors 116 all out in 19.2 overs (Ronald Lutaaya 50, Joseph Baguma 17; Pius Oloka 3/20, Abraiz Mir Ali 2/13, Mathew Musinguzi 2/24)
- Blasters 117/4 in 17.5 overs (Kenneth Waiswa 33*, Charles Musemeza 26; Baguma 3/17)
Blasters won by 6 wickets
Ronald Lutaaya stood tall when little else went right for the Warriors, but his composed half century could not prevent a six wicket defeat to the Blasters in the Batball MAXX T20 Challenge Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Lakeside Oval, Entebbe.
Batting first, the Warriors quickly found themselves in trouble and soon became dependent on Lutaaya to hold the innings together.
Calm and assured, he top scored with 50 off 38 balls, mixing patience with timely aggression through two fours and two sixes.
Around him, however, wickets kept tumbling, and the innings never gathered momentum.
Fahad Mutagana fell for a duck early on, while Baguma Joseph’s lively 17 ended in a run-out just as he looked set to kick on.
Abdul Basit Habib and Steven Wabwose failed to settle, and brief resistance from Abu Seguya and Harsh Panchal did little to slow the slide.
Once Lutaaya was dismissed in the 14th over, the Warriors’ hopes faded, and they were bowled out for 116 in 19.2 overs.
The Blasters’ bowlers kept things tight throughout. Pius Oloka led the way with three wickets, supported well by Abraiz Mir Ali and Mathew Musinguzi, while Kenneth Waiswa’s tidy spell ensured there was no late surge.
In reply, the Blasters approached the chase with confidence. Simon Ssesazi and Charles Musemeza set a steady platform, and despite a brief middle order wobble, the target was never out of reach.
Captain Kenneth Waiswa then saw the job through with an unbeaten 33, guiding his side home in 17.5 overs. Yashashvi Joshi stayed alongside him as the Blasters finished on 117 for four.

Waiswa’s calm knock and influence with the ball earned him the Player of the Match award as the Blasters continued their strong run in the tournament.
Elsewhere earlier in the day, Anas Baig struck a crucial half century to lead the Royals to a narrow two wicket win over the Strikers.

The Batball MAXX T20 Challenge Cup resumes with Day 9 action on Monday, December 15, with Strikers facing Titans at 10:00am, followed by Royals against Gladiators at 2:00pm.
