  • Titans 114/8 in 20 Overs (Fred Achelam 24, Siraje Nsubuga 19; Joseph Baguma 2/14)

Warriors won by 32 runs

Warriors kept their title push alive with a solid 32 run win over Titans at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe on Thursday evening, ensuring second-placed Gladiators remain within striking distance on Day 12 of the Batball MAXX Challenge Cup.

Standings – Day 12

Put in to bat, Warriors shook off an early setback to post a competitive 146 for 7. After Ronald Lutaaya fell cheaply, Fahad Mutagana and Steven Wabwose restored calm with a purposeful partnership that put the innings back on track.

Mutagana anchored the effort with a composed 43 off 37 balls, while Wabwose matched him stroke for stroke with a lively 45 from 36. Late runs from Baguma Joseph (16 off 10) and Owili Robert (22) helped Warriors finish strongly.

That total quickly looked daunting once the bowlers got to work. Kenneth Ogenrworth struck early to remove Amos Ahura, and Baguma Joseph followed up with a sharp spell through the middle. His figures of 2 for 14 tightened the grip as Titans slipped into trouble.

Wickets fell in quick succession, leaving Titans 58 for 6 inside eight overs. Captain Fred Achelam battled for his 24, and Siraje Nsubuga remained unbeaten on 19, but the chase never recovered.

Warriors stayed disciplined to restrict Titans to 114 for 8, sealing a convincing victory and keeping the title race alive.

Earlier, Gladiators had also done their part with a 34 run win over Strikers, keeping the pressure on leaders Blasters.

The action continues on Friday with a mouthwatering morning clash between Gladiators and Blasters at 10:00am, before Titans face Royals at 2:00pm.
