After being sent in to bat by Tanzania, Uganda posted a modest 99/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Janet Mbabazi led from the front, top-scoring with a composed (34), striking three boundaries to anchor a tricky innings.
She was well-supported by Esther Iloku (16) and Rita Musamali (14), although wickets fell at regular intervals as Tanzania’s bowlers kept things tight.
Tanzania’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Neema Justine Pius and Mwanamvua Hamisi Ushanga picking up two wickets apiece. The Ugandan innings never fully broke free, but steady lower-order resistance ensured they had a total to defend.
Tanzania’s chase was rocked by early breakthroughs and steady pressure from Uganda’s disciplined bowling unit. The target of 100 proved just out of reach as Tanzania were bundled out for 79 in 18 overs.
Captain Janet Mbabazi once again led by example, delivering a crucial spell, bowled 4 overs, taking 2 wickets for 17 runs scored 34 off 32. Her all-round brilliance earned her the Player of the Match award.

Uganda’s fielding was sharp, contributing to two run-outs that further derailed Tanzania’s innings.
Despite resistance from opener Neema Justine Pius (19) and Agnes Joseph Qwele (13), the Tanzanian batting order crumbled under the mounting pressure and scoreboard demands.
