Mbale Heroes FC players will be expected to give their all on the pitch this season, as club patron and MP Budadiri West, Nandala Mafabi, has promised to cater for player and technical team remunerations for the entire season.
This is the third consecutive season that Mafabi has covered player and technical team salaries, and the second season that he has funded player accommodation.
The club’s social media platforms released a statement expressing their gratitude to Mafabi for his generous support.

Mbale Heroes were promoted to the FUFA Big League this season and are aiming to return to the Uganda Premier League.
To achieve this goal, they have appointed Asaph Mwebaze as their new head coach.
“The leaders of Mbale Heroes presented an ambitious project to me, which greatly intrigued me and influenced my decision to join the club,” stated Mwebaze.
“Their goal is to successfully elevate this team back to the topflight football.”
A message for the Fans
The former Maroons and Soltilo Bright Stars coach also called upon the fans to support their team.
“We are dedicated as Coaches and staff to make sure we provide entertainment and also good results and we encourage the fans to come in big numbers.”
“Let them bring their families so that whoever comes to Mbale has an experience to tell the rest of the world,” he added.
Mbale Heroes last competed in the topflight 15 years ago, and Mwebaze has promised to lead the team back.
“This is a big club with a big history and I am here to try to put the club where it is supposed to be,” reasoned Mwebaze.
“It’s been more than 15 years without topflight football and we are going to work very hard to return the club to greater heights.”
Mbale Heroes will take on Kataka in a local derby in their opening game of the FUFA Big League next week on Tuesday at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
