Mbarara City sack Coach Mugerwa after Poor start

Mbarara City FC have sacked head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa after a dismal start to the Uganda Premier League season.

The club confirmed the decision on Tuesday, November 11, via its official social media pages, stating that Mugerwa and his entire technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

Mugerwa’s dismissal follows a poor run that saw the Ankole Lions collect just two points from six matches, two draws and four losses, leaving them near the bottom of the table.

This is the second straight season Mugerwa has been sacked mid-campaign, having faced a similar fate at Police FC before joining Mbarara.

He becomes the third coach to lose his job this season, after Hussein Mbalangu (NEC FC) and Jimmy Kintu (Calvary FC).

Mbarara City is expected to name an interim coach soon as the club seeks to turn around its fortunes and climb out of the relegation zone.
