Following the grand opening of the best sports facility in the country on December 21, Minister of Public Service in the Government of Uganda, Grace Mary Mugasa, called on Ugandans to use the facility for the right cause.
Mugasa, who represents Kigorobya Constituency in the 11th Parliament of Uganda, said in an interview,
“It is a joy for Bunyoro. I thank the government of NRM for this milestone in Bunyoro. Having this facility is a great statement in the development of our community. The Africa Cup of Nations will be played here.”
“This facility is not only for Hoima. I call upon all sportsmen from different parts of Uganda and from the globe to visit Hoima and make proper use of this facility. I call for keeping this facility in proper sanitation as well so that we keep it as a real treasure, and I believe it will be great if our club, Kitara FC, is granted a chance to benefit,” she added.
As Uganda hopes to host the 36th Africa Cup of Nations, Hoima City Stadium remains one of the highest hopes of the country in a rally to have a successful hosting of the tournament in 2027.
Meanwhile, Hoima City MP Asinansi Nyakato Kamanda, affiliated to PFF (formerly FDC) and the opposition political party, welcomed the facility, which pulls much credit for the ruling party NRM.
In her words, she noted, “I congratulate Uganda for securing this facility. It is not only for Hoima City; this stadium is one of the gains to protect.
