- Miracle Eaglets 55-43 UPDF Lady Tomahawks
The Miracle Eaglets came alive in the second half to beat the UPDF Lady Tomahawks 55-43 in a hard-fought National Basketball League game at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
UPDF started stronger, taking a 13-9 lead in the first quarter and holding a slim 21-19 advantage at halftime, despite scoring just eight in the second quarter.
But the momentum shifted after the break. Mariam Namukwaya and Prosper Anyine led the Eaglets’ comeback, helping their team edge ahead 36-34 by the end of the third. From there, the Eaglets took control.
UPDF managed just nine points in the fourth quarter as the Eaglets pulled away.
Winfred Akello starred with 14 points and a dominant 23 rebounds. Namukwaya added 12 points, while Anyine’s hustle was key in the second-half surge.
Vanessa Kakai led UPDF with 12 points, but the rest of the team struggled to keep up late on.
