Cricket Cranes assistant Captain and pace bowler Juma Miyaji has taken a major step in his young career after joining the Gulf Giants for Season 4 of the DP World ILT20 Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
He will spend a month with the franchise under a new exchange program aimed at giving African cricket talent more international exposure.
The initiative, created through a partnership between ILT20 organizers and African Cricket, will see eight African players join different ILT20 teams.

They include talents from Rwanda, Botswana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Uganda’s own Miyaji.
At the Gulf Giants, the 21-year-old will train alongside some of the sport’s biggest names, including World Cup winner Moeen Ali, Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus, Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani, and West Indies all rounder Kyle Mayers. The experience is expected to sharpen his skills and deepen his game awareness.
For Uganda, this is another encouraging sign of progress. Miyaji has become a key figure for the Cricket Cranes and even captained the national side during this year’s Pearl of Africa Series.
His move follows that of teammate Alpesh Ramjani, currently with the Chitwan Rhinos in the Nepal Premier League.
Should Miyaji impress in the UAE, he could open more doors for Ugandan and African players to break into top-tier franchise cricket, making his journey one worth watching.
