The first outing of the nationwide Mountain Dew powered basketball 3×3 tournament had a big turn up as teams fought for bragging rights.
The whole day event saw Grim Reapers (Men) and 3 PEAT (Ladies) claim the first series win on Saturday 19th October 2024, at Makerere Pool Court.
The tournament that is organised by Red Rhino Sports saw Grim Reapers comfortably win the men’s category in a 7-4 triumph over Team Clan in a thrilling men’s final.
The ladies final game had 3 PEAT overpower MUBS Elite with a 15-09 score to bag a grand finale spot just their counterparts Reapers.
Winners from both categories pocketed a cash Prize of 400, 000 Ugandan shillings while the runners-up bagged 200, 000.
The next tip off will be in Western part of Uganda this coming weekend with Mbarara City hosting the first upcountry outing.
A total of seven circuits will be played as teams fight for the ultimate prize money of two million shillings for the winner and one for the runner-up for both categories.
