Entebbe based side, Gaddafi FC has named Abdallah Mubiru as their new head coach, a timely appointment as the club gears up for its return to the Uganda Premier League.
Mubiru, widely respected in Ugandan football circles and nicknamed “Tabliq,” replaces Robert Mukasa, who guided the team back to the top flight.
He joins on a two-year deal, bringing deep experience from stints at KCCA, Police, Proline, Vipers, and Mbeya City in Tanzania. He also served as an assistant with the Uganda Cranes under Jonathan McKinstry.
“This is more than a job, it’s a project,” Mubiru said at his unveiling.
“Gaddafi FC has history, character, and passionate fans. I want to build a team with discipline, purpose, and a strong identity.”
The club described Mubiru as “an accomplished and visionary football mind” in a statement on its website, underlining its belief in his leadership.
Club President Opio Joseph Okurut called the hire a strategic step toward long-term success; “We’re building a sustainable football model rooted in values. Coach Mubiru fits perfectly into that vision.”
