MUBS Lacrosse delivered a statement of intent on Matchday 2 of the Uganda National Lacrosse League (UNLL), storming through all three of their fixtures at the NEC Grounds in Bugolobi without a blemish and firmly cementing their place at the top of the standings.
The day began with a tense opener against Blink Kobs, where MUBS had to dig deep to secure an 8–6 win. But that narrow margin only seemed to spark a ruthless momentum.
In their second game, they overwhelmed Bombo Army SS with a dominant 24–8 performance, before closing the day with an emphatic 15–3 demolition of Buroni Panthers.
With four wins from four matches, MUBS remains the only unbeaten team in the league. Their goal tally now stands at a staggering 66 scored and just 28 conceded, giving them a league-best goal difference of +38 and a perfect 12 points.
While MUBS soared, the rest of the league witnessed mixed fortunes. Blink Kobs bounced back strongly after their loss to MUBS. They edged Metropolitan International University (MIU) 17–13 and followed up with a 14–10 victory over FCA Warriors. Now sitting third with two wins and two losses, the Kobs will look to carry their newfound momentum into Matchday 3.
MIU, meanwhile, continue to struggle defensively. Despite opening the day with a hard-fought 14–13 win over the Panthers, their backline woes resurfaced in subsequent losses. They now sit fifth on the table, having conceded a worrying 60 goals in four games and carrying a -20 goal difference.
Buroni Panthers, once early pace-setters, fell hard on Matchday 2. After their narrow defeat to MIU, they were overwhelmed by MUBS’ relentless offense. Though level on six points with Blink Kobs and FCA Warriors, they drop to fourth on goal difference, having shipped 53 goals so far.
FCA Warriors also endured a tough day, narrowly losing 10–9 to Bombo Army SS before succumbing to the surging Blink Kobs. Despite sitting second in the standings thanks to a superior goal difference questions loom over their consistency.
At the bottom, Bombo Army SS finally tasted victory with a spirited win over FCA Warriors. However, their earlier losses and the league-high 61 goals conceded leave them with just one point and plenty of ground to cover.
