Two-time champions Makerere University Business School (MUBS) will be seeking to qualify for the quarterfinals when they host YMCA Comprehensive Institute on Friday at Nakawa in Group D of the University Football league.

MUBS are top of the table with 10 points from four games, while Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) is second with nine points, and YMCA is third with four points. Victoria is bottom with two points. IUIU and Victoria have played a game more.

MUBS beat YMCA 1-0 in the first leg and will be looking to replicate the same performance on Friday.

“It’s always special playing at home in the MUBS Arena,” said MUBS coach William Kasozi.

“The supporters always transmit their energy and we also try to play and connect with them. We want to give them the happiness they desire by winning against YMCA.”

“Our focus is on progressing to the knockout stage, which is paramount, and we are all geared up for this tie.”

YMCA is third on the table and a win would see them back in the chase for a qualification slot to the knockout stage.

“We have been playing well and have been unfortunate to lose,” said YMCA coach Michael Kalyesubula.

“But the win against IUIU really energized us and we are coming to Nakawa to win.

“MUBS is a strong team, they beat us in the first leg at our home but we have been improving with each game and the confidence is up, so you can expect a tough game from us.”
