Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi scored his first goal for Carlisle United in a 2-0 win over Aldershot Town at Brunton Park, sealing a third straight victory that keeps the Blues in the Enterprise National Leagueโs top three.
After a goalless first half, Regan Linney struck seconds into the restart with his eighth of the season.
Mugabi followed in the 69th minute, drilling a low shot into the bottom corner from a corner kick to the delight of the home fans.

โIt means a lot, especially getting my first one in front of the home crowd and seeing the Ugandan flag in the stands that made it even more special,โ Mugabi said.
โI just thought, โItโs coming straight to me, get a good contact,โ and luckily it went in.โ
Named man of the match, the Ugandan defender praised Carlisleโs resilience against opponents who had scored in every game this season.
โWe stayed concentrated for the whole 90 minutes. We felt comfortable with how we dealt with their forwards, and thatโs thanks to the staff preparing us well.โ
He credited the Brunton Park crowd for lifting the team through a tense first half. โWe just had to stay patient, and the supporters pushed us when it mattered most.โ
Carlisle now turn to next weekโs sold-out trip to Altrincham, with Mugabi promising fans: โThank you for your support, weโre ready to perform for you again.โ
