The Uganda Cranes have received a big boost ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, with captain Khalid Aucho and striker Steven Desse Mukwala joining the squad.
The two Tanzania-based stars; Aucho at Young Africans and Mukwala at Simba SC were confirmed as late additions by FUFA on Saturday.
They link up with the 28 players already in camp, taking the provisional squad to 30 ahead of the crucial Group G matches against Mozambique and Somalia.
Head coach Paul Put had initially left out Aucho due to uncertainty over his club future, but FUFA confirmed both players will report to camp on Monday, September 1, at the FUFA Hotel in Kisaasi.

Uganda will host Mozambique on September 5 and Somalia on September 8 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The Cranes currently sit fourth in Group G with 9 points, trailing Algeria (15) and Mozambique (12), tied with Botswana (9), and ahead of Guinea (7) and Somalia (1).
