Mulago Kings will face Kireka Panthers on Sunday in the National Chess League looking to go top of the table.
The two will meet in the 11th round on board two, and Mulago Kings will be hoping to take the top position for the first time this season.
The Kings are currently level on points (24) with Kireka A who lead the pack, but they are placed second due to an inferior tiebreak.
A big margin win however, can take them to two summit even if Kireka A win their game.
Kireka Panthers, on the other hand, will be looking to continue their revival after a recent slump. The Panthers had gone three games without a win before beating Gambit in the tenth round, which propelled them to the top four.
A win against Mulago would be a huge statement from the Panthers and put them in contention for the title.
Kireka A will be hoping their sister club do them a favour as they seek to remain top.
The table leaders will face third placed Jinja Knights as overwhelming favourites to win the contest.
Patrick Kawuma, Kireka A’s board one drew his game against Civil Aviation Authority’s Mark Nyola Wasswa in the last round, but he will be looking to outwit his board one opponent, Emmanuel Otella, on Sunday.
Third placed Soroti Chess Club will take on 6th placed CAA in this round on board three.
