The Mutalaga Christmas Cup resumed its second group stage on Thursday with two tightly contested matches.
Guest House kicked off the day with a decisive 2-0 victory over Nile Army at Lweza Playground. Emmanuel Ambayo and Benon Lutaaya found the net in the first half to secure the win and put Guest House in a strong position in the group.
The second match between Young Lions and Mildmay Uganda ended in a goalless draw, despite Mildmay dominating possession. The lack of clinical finishing from Mildmay’s forwards prevented them from breaking the deadlock.
With this result, Guest House currently leads the group with four points from two matches. Young Lions sit in second place with two points, while Mildmay and Nile Army have one point each.
The tournament continues on Friday, July 26, with Kavumba Elites facing off against Kajjansi Clay at 4:00 PM at Kajjansi Clay Playground.
