KCCA FC interim head coach Jackson Mayanja guided the club to a second-place finish in the recently concluded 2022/23 Uganda Premier League.

He managed to trounce Soltilo Bright Stars FC 5-0 in the final match of the season, to end it on a high note.

The club finished with 53 points, just as many as champions Vipers SC, but with the latter having a superior six-margin goal difference.

With KCCA in search of a permanent coach, Mayanja has presented himself as a worthy candidate and wants to take on the mantle.

“My tenure at KCCA FC is not over because this is my home, and I have always been KCCA,” he told the press after the Bright Stars’ game on Saturday.

“But, I also think I am knowledgeable enough to become the head coach permanently,” he gave himself flowers.

“I have no problem if the club gets another person, but I believe I can still do the job,” he added.

In his short spell, Mayanja has guided the club to four victories in eight matches. He has suffered defeat once and drawn on three occasions.
