Crested Cranes playmaker Aminah Nababi has joined Indian champions East Bengal, signing a one-year deal with an option for extension.
She becomes the latest Ugandan star at the club, linking up with compatriots Fazila Ikwaput and Resty Nanziri.
The Proud Lefter for her swift left foot, the 22-year-old arrives from Sethu Women FC, where she scored seven goals and made two assists last season.
Represented by Sepuya Inc Agency, Nababi has already completed her medical and started training with her new teammates.
Her signing comes as East Bengal prepare for the AFC Women’s Champions League preliminary qualifiers, set for 25–31 August 2024 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Drawn in Group A, they face Kitchee SC from Hong Kong and hosts Phnom Penh Crown FC for a place in the main tournament.
Nababi, who previously played for Makerere University WFC, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, and Rines SS WFC, adds experience and creativity to East Bengal’s midfield.
Her move highlights the club’s growing faith in Ugandan talent as they aim for continental success.
