Crested Cranes goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro has been named as the new captain of reigning FUFA Women Super League champions Kampala Queens FC for the remainder of the season.
After Zaina Namuleme officially stepping down as team captain earlier, the Queens of soccer have named goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro as their new captain.
Nakaziro has leadership experience having captained Lady Doves when they won their maiden FUFA Women Super League title in 2021 tha was played in Njeru.
The custodian joined Kampala Queens FC at the start of the 2022/23 season from Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC.
In the same season, she helped the team to win their first and historic league title. She was also named the best goalkeeper of the season with nine clean sheets.
The Queens of Soccer are currently second on the summit with 24 points, three points behind leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
In the upcoming league fixture, the Charles Ayiekoh coached side will host struggling Rines SS WFC on Sunday in Lugogo.
