After 11 months injured, Crested Cranes and Apollon Ladies FC’s goal poacher Juliet Nalukenge returned to action on Sunday, 1st October 2023.
In November 2022, Nalukenge sustained a knee injury which required surgery and she was sidelined for 11 months.
It was joy as Nalukenge was introduced in the last 10 minutes of the game as her team Apollon Ladies FC defeated Aris Limassol 5-0 in the Limassol Derby in the game played at Yermasoyia Stadium.

The former Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC goal poacher, posted on her social media account thanking God for helping her to return to action.
“I have spent the past months thinking about this moment, the day I would return to the field of play. I’m very delighted to play again. It’s been a tough journey to recovery but God is great!,” said Nalukenge on her return from injury
Apollon Ladies will play Omonia Nicosia on Saturday 7th October before playing Benfica on Wednesday 11th October in the Champions League and Nalukenge is expected to get more playing time.
The 2019 Airtel FUFA Female Footballer of Year joined the most successful club in Cyprus Apollon Ladies in 2021 from Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
Known for finding the back of the net, the return of Nalukenge is not only a joy for her and the club but also for Crested Cranes.
The 20-year-old striker last played for Crested Cranes in February 2022 when she helped her team to win their maiden CECAFA Women Senior Championship.
