The 3rd edition of CFK beginning of year badminton tournament which a two day tournament came to its climax yesterday the 19th at CFK Badminton Academy with Nsubuga Reagan and Nalumansi Kruthum wining the men and women category respectively.
To win the men’s category, Nsubuga defeated Shilton Tayebwa 21-12 , 21-14 in men’s singles final while Nalumansi defeated Komuhendo Jovia 21-9, 21-12 to take the women category
Nsubuga Reagan who was the 2024 City Tyres East Africa Challenge silver medalist attributes his win at the CFK Beginning of Year Badminton tournament victory to hard work and listening to his coaches’ instructions .
“In February of this year we are going for Uganda international badminton challenge and i wanted to use the CFK tournament as my weighing scale as far as my performance is considered,” Nsubuga told told Nnalubaale sports.
The two-day tournament had participants in three categories that is junior, senior and corporate with the main target of examining the players’ progress as they prepare for this year’s badminton events.
The women category winner Nalumansi says the non-stop training she had even after coming back from the East Africa University Games helped her to merged the champion of the CFK event.
Kayanja Steven the President CFK patriots says that they have had a good tournament where different players showcased their skills.
“We are one with this tournament and we are now preparing to start our famous CFK Sunday series that will be starting in march 2nd this year.”
