After coming off a big win on Thursday evening with a good display by Henry Ssenyondo, Uganda’s difficult tour resumed and concluded in a heavy 98 run loss to Namibia in the final T20I at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek on Saturday.

  • Namibia 169/6 in 20 overs
  • Uganda 71/10 in 16.5 overs (Baig Anas 19, Ssesazi Simon 14; Heingo Max 4/9, Trumpelmann Ruben 2/7)

Namibia won by 98 runs

After choosing to bowl, Uganda made a steady start but couldn’t hold back Namibia’s progress.

With the best Namibia Men’s Cricket National team put out, the Eagles were only heading in one direction, Uganda holding hope from their previous match that had leveled the series.

Louren Steenkamp anchored the innings with a fluent 82 off 52 balls, while Nicol Loftie-Eaton added 30 to push the hosts to 169 for 6.

Cosmas Kyewuta (2/21) and Juma Miyaji (3 wickets) provided Uganda’s main breakthroughs, but the bowlers struggled to keep the scoring in check as Namibia pulled away in the latter stages.

Uganda’s reply quickly fell apart. Simon Ssesazi and Robinson Obuya were dismissed early, and the middle order failed to recover.

Riazat Ali Shah, Kenneth Waiswa and Joseph Baguma all fell cheaply, leaving the chase in disarray.

Anas Baig’s 19 was the only notable resistance, but with little support, Uganda were bowled out for 71 in 16.5 overs.

Max Heingo starred with the ball, taking 4 for 9, while Ruben Trumpelmann struck early to set the tone for Namibia A’s dominance.

The result gives Namibia a 2-1 win in the T20I series and exposed Uganda’s struggles with the bat.

Uganda will look to come together again, when the two sides meet again in a 50 over match on Monday at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground before facing off again on Wednesday to conclude the series.
