In one of the most electrifying and fast-paced games of the NBL Men’s 2025 regular season, Namuwongo Blazers lit up Lugogo Indoor Arena with a commanding 74-37 victory over KCCA Panthers on the night of April 18th.

With a late tip-off, spirited fans in loud voices witnessed a game that wasn’t just about speed but also about precision and sheer dominance.

From the jump, the Blazers brought unrelenting energy, finishing the first quarter up 20-13. But the true story was in the Panthers’ collapse.

While Innocent Ochera offered a spark with a fancy three-pointer in the dying seconds of the first period, it wasn’t enough to ignite the KCCA engine.

The Blazers restored their intensity in the second quarter, widening the gap with another 21 points, holding the Panthers to just 12.

Things went from bad to worse for KCCA in the second half, where their offense all but went AWOL, concluding halftime at 41-25. The third quarter saw them put up only 5 points while the Blazers stayed consistent with 20.

In the final period, Blazers took their foot off the gas, scoring a modest 13 but by then, the damage was irreparable. The Panthers added only 7 more points, cementing one of their lowest-scoring games in recent memory.

Despite the loss, the Panthers had bright moments. Davis Assimwe, 10 points and 5 rebounds ruled the boards, and Toussaint Mampuya (6 points and 4 rebounds) stood out with his tenacity and floor leadership, showing flashes of control amidst the chaos.

But it was Stephen Otoa who turned heads, moving with elastic finesse, grabbing 4 rebounds and attempting to stem the tide of Nam Blazer’s relentless offense.

The Blazers, on the other hand, ran a masterclass in transition basketball. Jimmy Enabu and James Okello dominated the boards and controlled the paint each with 12 points with Moses Mugisha also getting into double digits.

Earlier on, JT Jaguars dominated Kampala Rockets to a 70-54 final result.
