Natasha Shirazi: A Season of Transition and Triumph

Crested Cranes Forward Natasha Shirazi has played for two European teams in the recently concluded 2022/23 season.

The enterprising forward has featured for Turkish club Beşiktaş Vodafone Kadın Futbol and Italian side Venezia Football Club.

The 27yr old joined Turkish club Beşiktaş Vodafone Kadın Futbol in August last year after winning CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship with Crested Cranes.

Natasha played 5 games at Beşiktaş Vodafone Kadın Futbol in the first round where she scored one goal and registered 3 assists.

After a spell of six months at Beşiktaş, she joined Venezia Football Club in Italy.

At Venezia Football Club, Natasha had a fantastic start as she immediately became a starter at the team before she was later disrupted by injuries.

When she returned, Natasha helped her club to win their first ever title beating Res Roma 1-0 to win Coppa Italia Serie C femminile.

The former Rayo Vallecano forward, describes her 2022/23 season as a fair campaign.

“After getting limited time at the national team (Crested Cranes), I had to get a competitive club to improve myself. When I joined Beşiktaş, It was really amazing and learned a lot but when I switched to Venezia in Italy it was even better.”

“At those two clubs, I got playing time though at one point I had a set back due to a hamstring injury that left me on the sidelines for three months but when I recovered, we won a title and that was an achievement to remember in my career. To me, I had a fair start but a better end.” she said

Natasha aired out her next plans.

“Of course I would wish to play for my National Team in the upcoming games because its my dream. Me and my agent we have many offers from various European Club but we will choose the best team to join.” She Concluded

About Natasha Shirazi

Natasha Shirazi is a Uganda Footballer born on 8th February 1996 and owns Danish citizenship as well.

She made her senior debut with Crested Cranes in July 2016 when Uganda suffered 0-4 away friendly loss to Kenya.

In 2022, Shirazi won the CECAFA Women’s Senior Championship with Crested Cranes.

Shirazi has played for BSF, B.93, and Nordsjælland in Denmark, Rayo Vallecano and La Solana in Spain, Maccabi Kishronot Hadera in Israel, Beşiktaş Vodafone Kadın Futbol in Turkey and Venezia Football Club in Italy.
