Our Savior played out a character-filled 61-55 victory over UCU Canons in the men’s National Basketball League encounter on Sunday at Abja Park in Naalya.
UCU Canons made a poor start to fall 6-15 by the end of the first quarter before they got within just a point at halftime.
They then surrendered the third quarter 10-17 to extend their abysmal show headed into the final quarter.
The Mukono side entered the fourth quarter fighting and leveled the game 55-55 with a minute and a half to go before Our Saviour took their lead back eventually.
Martin Kelly and Henry Ssebagala scored 12 and 10 points respectively while Kenneth Mesho contributed 11 rebounds for Our Saviour, in a winning effort.
Meanwhile, Peter Sifuma’s double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Rogers John Dauna’s 12 points proved not enough, as they suffered their fourth loss.
The 2019 finalists were earlier beaten by Ndejje University Angels, City Oilers, and UPDF Tomahawks.
In the other games, Nam Blazers beat Ndejje Angels 76-55, while UPDF Tomahawks defeated 68-54.
