Nicknamed the ‘King of The Red Carpet’, legendary shooter Fahad Ssewankambo has, thus far, had the best performance at the National Open Grand finale.

After turning 18 years old, in 2013, he added national open qualification to his Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) Easter Cup triumph.

At the grand finale, he came 3rd after losing out to eventual winner Turigye Jonah in the last four.

He however topped the PAU rankings for the year and returned in 2014 as Seed 1 and found it relatively easy before the final.

He needed character, hard work, brilliance, and luck to defeat Ivan Kanyesigye, lifting his first National Open title.

In 2015, he lost out to Nsubuga Humphrey in the last 8. He lost to the same opponent at the same stage the following year.

2017 came too a lot easier as he lifted his second title after thrashing Busingye William 8-0 in a one-sided final.

In 2018, the quarter-final curse hit him again against the same player and since then, he has seen a decline in form; dropping in National rankings to 70th.

This means he must go through qualifiers or else forget about Lugogo. His preferred venue to qualify is Pacify Hotel-Wakaliga and the day is Friday this week.
