Real Stars Sports Agency awards returned on the local sports calendar this morning to appreciate athletes who excelled last month.
For the month of July, four athletes posted eye catching performances from the 4 sports disciplines that had major activities.
In Badminton, Sarah Nazziwa who won a silver medal at Uganda International para Badminton which was held last month at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, in Kampala.
The wheel chair one category star beat fellow wheel chair one compatriot Elizabeth Nassolo, and Sumin Mutesi to the award.
From football, Ssingo Ssaza captain Joseph Ssewali won the July best footballer award for his outstanding performaces in the opening round of the 2024 Masaza Cup, contributing to 5 goals of the 8 scored by his team in the 4 games played.
Ssewali beat Buluuli‘s Robert Ssewanyana who has netted thrice so far in this year’s competition to the award. Ssewanyana’s teammate, Enock Kabuuka, finished third.
Elsewhere, Rugby cranes star Aaron Ofoyrwoth received the accolade for the Rugby player of the month while WBC winner Sulaiman Ssegawa was announced the best boxer in July.
