  • City Oilers 80-43 Kampala Rockets

Fayed Baale and Joel Lukoji combined for 25 points as City Oilers thrashed Kampala Rockets 80-43 on Sunday at Lugogo, stretching their unbeaten start to three games in the National Basketball League.

Oilers set the tone early, taking the first quarter 22-14 with tight defence and crisp ball movement.

They tightened their grip in the second period, holding the Rockets to just nine points to open a commanding halftime lead.

Kampala found no relief after the break. Limited to eight points in the third quarter, they trailed 57-31 heading into the final period as the champions stayed in control.

The fourth quarter was a formality as the Oilers closed out another dominant display.

Baale scored 14 points and Lukoji added 11, while Titus Lual controlled the boards with 15 rebounds to anchor the win.

For the Rockets, Pauti Ozias Kikomba finished with a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds, but lacked support. The Rockets turned the ball over 28 times and managed just one point from their bench.

The result keeps the Oilers perfect after earlier wins over Namuwongo Blazers and UPDF Tomahawks, underlining their early title intent.
