2026 National Basketball League | Women | Friday February 21,
- JT Lady Jaguars 47-28 KCCA Leopards
JT Lady Jaguars produced a commanding display on Friday night, beating KCCA Leopards 47-28 at YMCA Court in Wandegeya to end the Leopards’ unbeaten run in the 2026 National Basketball League.
KCCA came into the game unbeaten and favourites to continue their dominance. Instead, it was the Jaguars who set the pace, controlled the rebounds and imposed themselves defensively from the start.
Maimuna Nabbosa opened the scoring with a driving layup, but KCCA’s Susan Rebecca Aanyu answered with a turnaround jumper to briefly suggest a close contest.
That was as good as it got for the Leopards. The Jaguars responded with an 11-0 run to open up a clear gap and settle into control.
Although Aanyu hit a three pointer late in the first quarter, momentum had already shifted.
JT tightened up further in the second quarter, holding KCCA to just six points. The Leopards struggled to find rhythm against an organised and aggressive defence, and trailed by 13 at halftime.
Scoring remained hard to come by after the break, but the Jaguars stayed composed. They edged the third quarter 10-7 to stretch the lead to 16 points heading into the final period.
KCCA tried to lift the tempo late on, but the Jaguars never let up, calmly closing out a dominant win that sent a clear message to the rest of the league.
